Reminiscence-s

a In the 1950’s, lawn parties were sometimes held in the summer where Fraser MacDougall’s house is now. There were parents, young people and a dance floor. Steven Toole used to play at some of them. Some of the older people didn’t agree with the dancing. They would try to keep their kids home.

’3: Actually, four people remember this one! A couple from the community have a hot tub installed on their back porch in the open air where they love to unwind after a tiring day, even in the snowy days ofwinter. Two ladies had the task of enumerating the area before an election. They called at this house and knocked at the door. Seeing the lights on, they entered and called out to see if anyone was home. Imagine the surprise they received when the lady of the house appeared with nothing on but a big white towel and dripping wet! She very courteously answered all the questions on the survey while little droplets ofwater ran; and her husband waited patiently for her to return to the hot tub under the stars. That was one enumeration we will never forget!
