Ihc History of Argyle Shore 3. Stephen & Amanda Wakelin This house was built in 1966 by Dalvay Pollard, assisted by Harvey Inman and Carl Potts . It was built on a lot of land that was part of the Inman farm property of Harvey's parents. Harvey and his wife, Evelyn (Roberts), lived there with their three children, Linda, George and Dawn for a number of years before moving to Bunbury after selling the property to Gwen Cook from the New States. Gwen later sold it to Hal and Rhoda (Dennis) Arthurs who lived there with their three children, Amanda, Micheal and Timothy. Through the years, the Arthurs made many renovations, including adding an addition to the second storey. Rhoda also added to the beauty of the landscape by planting many beautiful flower beds. Hal and Rhoda moved to Germany and later to Ontario where Hal is now working as a pastor and Rhoda is a teacher. Their daughter, Amanda, now lives in the house with her husband, Stephen, and their son, Gabriel. ^^ Every bit of the lumber for this house was cut off the property of Evelyn's father, Gordon Roberts , on the Baldwin's Road in Cardigan . It was trucked to Argyle Shore by James Shaw and Andrew Crosby . 104
