The History olix\rg'\‘lc Shore
had five children, Gordon (died 1941, age 26), Lloyd (died 1944 age 24),James (married Ann Porter and moved to Charlottetown), Neil (married Roma MacLeod, daughter of Sterling and Vina (MacPhail) MacLeod), and Lillian (married Glen Pinkney and moved to Ontario).
The farm was passed on to Neil and the present home was built after the original home was destroyed by fire in 1959. The contractor was Morris Cudmore and the carpenters were Blaine Dawson, Elwin Sherren, and Harry Cudmore. The house sits on a hill behind the Community Centre. Neil and Roma had five children, Fraser (Joan Gass), Norma, John Sterling, Gordon (Kathy MacDonald), and
Heather. Neil died in 2005 and Roma died in 2007. Heather and John Sterling presently reside in the home place.
'3‘ Of special interest to this property, is the fact that a number of summer cottages were built on the shore land by John Angus and Mariah. The Argyle Shore Sunset View Cottages continued to be run by the family until they were sold in the 1976. This location was a popular spot and many community events such as picnics and other gatherings were enjoyed there over the years. The cottages are presently known as “A distant Shore Cottages" owned by Don and
Lynda McCrimmon.
