This home is one of the oldest standing homes in “The Shore". It has been passed down to the sixth generation. The farm was 103 acres at one time. It is a four gable style home with an addition being built about 100 years ago, that houses the kitchen. It is set back ofl‘ the road, halfway between the road and the water. Flhe house actually faces the water because when they built it, the water was their means of transportation.
It was believed to be built circa 1830, with one of the first known owners being Donald and Anne lV’lacEachernTheir son, DonaldJr and his wife, Grace (l\"lacDonald),were the second generation.Their niece, Melinda Campbell, came to live with them at a young age. She later married Ambrose Sellar and this was the third generation to operate the t‘armflhey had a mixed farm with cattle, sheep, and crops. Melinda and Ambrose had six children, Emily (Percy lWacDonald), Grace (George lnman and Robert lV’Iorrison), Waldron (Ruby lVIacLean), l\Iildred (John lV‘IacKinley), Murchison (Elsie), and Minnie (John Wright and later Ed lV’lartin).
