to enjoy. Always a favorite with savvy travelers from away, Argyle Sunset was also popular amongst Islanders for family gatherings and group picnics. Labor, in the form of children, Fraser, Norma, Sterling, Gordon, and Heather, was plentiful and available, though not entirely enthusiastic, and the business thrived.
In the early 1980’s, Neil and Roma MacDougall sold the property to Harry and Lynn Munroe from Halifax. Shortly after they bought the property, Harry, a builder by trade, built the last of the ten cottages and constructed the distinctive hexagonal two storey residence on the beachfront.
After a little more than a decade, Harry and Lynn Munroe sold it to Dave and Chris Darlington, who sold it to Andrew Bacon and Margo Violet, from Rhode Island, in 2003. Andy and Margo operated it for 3 years and then sold it to Don and Lynda McCrimmon from British Columbia. Don and Lynda have made major renovations to the cottages and added a large wrap around second story deck to the shore side of the home giving them a lovely, expansive View of the Strait.
