Garth Norrie, son of Earle and Vi Norrie of Charlottetown, married Elizabeth Anne Caird of North Vancouver in 1987. Garth’s parents purchased a shore lot in the 19605 from John Donald MacPhail. The Norrie family spent many a weekend at the Shore exploring and picnicking. In 1972, the shore frontage was traded for land on the Bonshaw Road known as John Donald’s Hill. Plans to build didn’t develop, although they did plant pine, other flora and had a garden that they tended yearly. A quonset but was erected and later a workshop was moved to the property. In 1987, the property was transferred to Garth and Anne who were living in Vancouver. Moving in 1989, to PEI, they built on Norries Knoll in 1990. 1998 saw the arrival of their daughter, Elizabeth Jayne.
