The farm situated on the east corner ofthe Bonshaw and Argyle Shore Road was originally owned by A. J. MacNevin who operated a store in Bonshaw. John Donald lVTacPhail, married to Pauline (Campbell,) bought the farm. They later operated a store just opposite to the home on the same side of the Shore Road. They had one daughter, Elaine, who married RoyJewell from Cornwall.They have two children, Kevin (Cheryl MacKinnon) and Laura Lee (Scott Lewis).The farm was kept by Roy and Elaine but the house and five acres were sold to Andrea Burke (children: l\'lolly and Ben). At one point,“Guy the Painter"(Guy Arbique) lived there, as well. Andrea sold it to Jim and Nancy Kemp. They lived there with their twin children, Joanie and Rob. In 2005, the house was sold to Art and Kim lVlacKenzie (children: Danielle, Jessica, and Natasha) from Ontario.They are doing a number ofmajor renovations to the home including new siding and windows.The farm is still in the possession of Roy and Elaine Jewell who built summer cottages in the shore field that they rent during the summer months.
