Expansion, Rifts and Competition

1, Walter E. Burke, of Charlottetown, P.E. Island do hereby make this full and complete assignment of my interest in the said Radio Station CHCK to the said Keith S. Rogers of Charlottetown and declare the same binding in every way upon myself and upon my legal heirs and assigns.

Dated at Charlottetown, P.E.I. June 20, I936.

Witness: Billy Warren Signed: Walter E. Burke K .S. Rogers.

My father has been accused of treating Walter Burke in a shabby manner—a residue, no doubt, from this competition for radio domi- nance in Charlottetown. But this was not the case and I offer the following document from Mr. Burke’s own hand:

To Whom it May Concern:—

I wish to make it a matter of record that in all business dealings with Keith S. Rogers, in connection with Radio Broadcasting, or other matters, in particular with our association prior to 1928 in the operation of Radio Station CFC Y and its aflairs, I have always found Mr. Rogers to be fair and honourable in every way. I wish further to state that in the dissolution of our association in 1928, for the operation of CF CY, Mr. Rogers assisted me in many ways that he was not obliged to take but were of considerable assistance to me in establishing CHCK on my own behalf I wish further to state that in the breaking up of our association together in the operation of CF C Y prior to 1928, Mr. Rogers treated me in an eminently fair and just manner and to my complete satisfaction.

Dated at Charlottetown, P.E.I. May 17th, 1936 Signed: Walter E. Burke.
