exits that they could not all be guarded. So a bunch of us beat it. Could not see much of the town in 50 minutes, but we did our best and were ready to pullout at the appointed time. The have a very nice station (CPR). The cars are elevated and one must go downstairs to get to the offices and waiting rooms. They are immediately below the tracks. This was about all we saw. Most of our time was spent in a restaurant. Tuesday Dec. 10.18 Regina was our first stop. Just stopped a few minutes. Now fairly well on the prairies. Moose Jaw, next about noon and Swift Current about 5:30. Only remained about ten minutes at these places so could see 4nothing. Wednesday, Dec. 11th. Reached Calgary at 6 am. Regis met us and came aboard with a box of cigars, a bottle of good whiskey and a $10.00 bill for me. 1 treated the boys and a couple were in pretty good humor at breakfast. We are now passing the edge of the prairie and before noon find ourselves in the foothills of the Rockies. The scenery was surely grand. Sun shining on the snow covered peaks made picture well worth coming a long distance to see. The tunnels also were a new thing to us and it certainly was the best part of out trip. Early in the afternoon we passed Banff. Saw some buffalo near the tracks. They l3
