Thursday. Feb. 6,19.
Back on the job again. Nothing out of the ordinary except some talk of moving to Gournoster Bay, first of the week. lt is about ten miles away and we must walk it with rifle and packs. It will be no joke, especially to us fellows who have had very little drill. The Sergeant fixed 11 a new schedule tonight so after this we must take turns at the different rooms. I am going back to B. Room tomorrow with McAuley. So it will not make much difference to me.
Friday. Feb. 7, 19.
Same damned thing again. We are getting a little sick of life here; nothing to do and this gets a little more monotonous at times. The fellows want to get away some place either up the line to Omsk or back to Canada, preferably the latter at least for me. Paddy and Todd went to the village, bringing back a treat for the bunch; had a feed of beans (cold) and canned peaches before turning in, wrote a few letters and posted up this history.
Saturday. Feb. 8, 19.
When I looked at my rifle today, it was in mighty bad shape so had to spend about an hour trying to have it cleaned up. Parade at 9:15 with web equipment and rifles. McLean and Leut. Rowand had us out for about a half hour after which we went to B. Columbia Hall and had about an hours flag drill.. Got back in time for dinner, which we bought in the YMCA as we were all pretty hungry after our walk. Holiday this afternoon so we stuck around our bunks as usual and some of us slept
