Following the mass, the various branches of the Keefe family posed on the steps of St. Malachy’s to have their pictures taken. The last group involved the family of Kathleen Murphy, the youngest daughter of John and Angelina, and the only surviving family member to attend the reunion. Kathleen took her place on the church steps, surrounded by her family. The siX of the seven Murphy sons and one daughter who assembled on the church steps are a remarkable and accomplished group: all university graduates, all successful in their careers, highly entrepreneurial and, like Kathleen, all committed to family. There was Shawn, lawyer and the then member of parliament for Charlottetown; D’Arcy, who operates Tim Horton franchises in St. John; Danny, who operates Tim Horton and Wendys franchises and a string of hotels in eastern Canada; Kevin, operator of award—winning restaurants and an historic boutique hotel in Charlottetown; Michael, an accountant with international business experience who returned home to operate the hotel; Mary Jane, the only daughter, a businesswoman and accountant; and Joey, who operates Tim Horton franchises in Ottawa. Stephen, the third—youngest, had returned to his home in Ottawa the previous day, where he operates Tim Horton and Wendys franchises.
