church’s role in the world and raising children in an increasingly secular society. Kathleen felt it enriched her and Bill as parents.
Religious observances were of vital importance to Kathleen. Attendance at weddings, wakes and other religious events was to become an integral part of her life. Despite the fact that members of her immediate family were far—flung, she never missed attendance at their funerals. She
is a major presence, not only in the lives of her children, but of her grandchildren as well. She has attended the baptisms, first communions and confirmations of each of her 28 grandchildren, and takes an active interest in each of their lives.
