Kathleen immensely enjoys bridge, whether it be a tournament or a friendly game organized around the kitchen table.

For several years, Kathleen organized a family bridge game on Sunday evenings via the internet. Kathleen would log in from Charlottetown; D’Arcy from Saint John; Michael from Chicago; and Stephen from Ottawa. They would have a fun, albeit competitive game, which was enjoyed by everyone across the time zones.

The tradition of playing bridge which began in the Keefe household of the 1930s and 40s continues. When younger, the children did not have the interest or the time to play bridge. As the years went on, D’Arcy, Michael, Stephen, Shawn and Mary Jane, along with two grandchildren, Paul and Matthew, all began playing on a regular basis.

During summer holidays, it is not uncommon to see two tables being played at the home on Riverview Drive when D’Arcy and Stephen along with their wives, come home to visit. During the year Michael, Paul Smith and Mary Jane have become regular and active competitors with Kathleen. During one long and intense evening session, Mary Jane emerged as the winner. That only led Kathleen to even greater efforts.
