orchard and forest, stationary engine and, above all, the 29 Chevrolet sedan which seemed forever new even to its odor. Then there was the human side: grandma, Sadie, Jimmy and at times Josephine. They were older but remained young in so many ways. They had the common faults of humankind but were intelligent, humorous and for their situation quite well read and informed. In the end they all lived to great old age. They took a keen interest in all of us, assisted us in gentle ways but never tried to spoil or dominate us. All our lives are much fuller because of them and the way of life they followed in the Valley, “in home”.
