Having the ’38 Ford truck on hand made these trips easy and often the box would be filled with Ionians even though probably not one of them was a swimmer. After the war we became more and more involved in organized ball games with Iona teams quite prominent at softball in particular, thus providing a favorite Sunday afternoon pastime for many people both with games at home and on the road.
