Sid) GREEN The Provincial Championships, on August 2nd, were again well attended. Created by a combination of growing pains, immaturity, and perhaps some bad blood, it became one of the most controversial shoots ever held in this area. There was no Island classification system and the Shoot Management Committee, under the chairmanship of Harley Ings, arranged in April to have the shoot registered with the National Association. On shoot day a few protested the registration violently, with the end result that the competition was scored by the Lewis system, described earlier, which made the only significant skeet score Ted Woodruff's winning 98 x 100.
