Mphy 63. Let it Snow During the retirement years, Alphy and Margurita loved to spend time together outside. Whether they spent time in the meadow, woods or along the brook, it was done at a leisurely pace. No longer was it necessary to rush home to feed the family, or milk the cows. Now Alphy and Margurita had lots of time to enjoy the little wonders of nature and they took pleasure in this. They took notice of the changing seasons, they savored the sights and sounds of life all around them. They admired the beauty of nature and marveled at what God had made, each living thing complex and perfectly created. Each season brought with it its own abundance of joy and lessons to be learned. During the spring, summer and fall Alphy and Margurita spent a lot of time walking in the woods and meadows. During the winter months they would also spend much time in the woods, but they had developed a new hobby - snowmobiling. They especially loved the snow covered sceneries they found in the woods. Quite often the couple would go to the woods on the snowmobile, taking a lunch with them. They would find a secluded spot, sheltered under the trees, where they would stop to eat while admiring the scenery. They especially enjoyed watching large snowflakes falling down, in the silence of the woods. The snowmobile rides to the woods became Alphy and Margurita’s favorite pastime, and each day they would make the trek to the woods on the Arctic Cat. The snowmobile excursions were also a family affair - Alphy and Margurita would invite their adult children some of whom had snowmobiles of their own, to join them.
